Truro Fire Service publishes its volunteer firefighter qualifications on the town website. The hiring process

Truro Fire Service is a volunteer department with standing recruitment, so you can start at any time. The town directs applicants to contact the Fire Chief at the Central Fire Station, 165 Victoria Street, Truro, or by phone at 902-895-4437.
The brigade's own website at trurofirebrigade.ca gives you three ways to apply: submit the online application form, download the Complete Application Package and fill it in by hand in blue or black pen, or pick up a printed package at the station. Completed paper applications are dropped off in person at the Central Fire Station front door. If you apply online, a volunteer recruitment officer contacts you to guide you through the rest of the process.
Before you apply, line up the supporting documents: a clean criminal record check, a driver's abstract showing a safe driving record, and a medical form completed by a physician as required in the brigade's application package.
