A summary of this record. The full detail is below, and the official posting governs.
Salmon Arm recruits paid-on-call (volunteer) firefighters and publishes its recruitment requirements: applicants must be at least 18 and in good physical condition, reside in Salmon Arm, be employed full-time, and hold and maintain a valid BC driver's licence with an acceptable driving record. Grade 12 or equivalent is preferred rather than required. The four-stage process runs from the application package through screening and interviews, a seven-station job-related fitness test at a fire hall, and an approximately 120-hour recruit training program followed by a 3-month probation. No fire certification is needed before applying.
Entry-level hiring with no fire certifications required. The department trains recruits in-house. Medical certifications and driver licensing are the differentiators.
